Product Description
At loose ends with your locks? Let the “Queen of Curl” show you how to bring out the best in your hair.

The lengths that women go to in order to tame their curls! If you’ve been blessed with curly hair, chances are that you’ve thought of it as a curse, complaining, “It’s uncontrollable!” “It’s a mess!” or “It’s so frizzy and
tangly!” Out of frustration, you may have mistakenly resorted to methods (straighteners, irons, blow-dryers) that only cause more damage to your hair. Now renowned New York City stylist Ouidad sets the record straight on curly hair and shows you how to start loving the waves, kinks, and curls you were born with. In Curl Talk, Ouidad reveals the secrets to bringing out your natural beauty, including:
* Finding the right cut
* How often to shampoo (and why you never wrap your wet hair in a towel)
* Why brushes and mousses should be outlawed
* The best conditioning and styling treatments
* Blow-drying, coloring, and straightening the safe way

Based on Ouidad’s experience catering solely to curly-haired clients at her exclusive Manhattan salon, Curl Talk is a straight-talking guide for your daily struggle with the frizzies, offering simple, step-by-step solutions for getting a gorgeous head of curls. It will revolutionize the way you treat your hair.

5 out of 5 stars very informative   July 10, 2008
O. Villanueva
I loved how the book was not propaganda for the author's hair care line. The author gives very good information, (explaining that her hair care line falls under the critera for good shampoo, conditioner, etc of course) on what ingresients are good for curly hair and which ones to stay away from...even listing them in detail so you can shop at the grocery store!! It has great information on how to treat your hair, such as combing, shampooing, etc and even has sketches to demonstrate. LOVED IT!

This book is a great resource for those of us having a hard time taming our curls! She has packed this little volume with loads of useful information, from good/bad ingredients in products to how to enhance curl and prevent frizz. I only wish that she had a salon in Chicago!

5 out of 5 stars Great for Curly Hair!   June 7, 2007

I really enjoyed this book. It gave me some great advice I had never heard before on how to deal with my curly hair. It talks about hairstyles and haircare for several different types of curly hair. It's wonderful the author has curly hair herself and isn't just guessing what it feels like to live with it.

4 out of 5 stars Curly Hair Relief   July 31, 2006

Ouidad understands curly hair as she, her siblings, and parents, all have differeing types of curly hair. How nice it is to have a stylist who created a product and a cutting method because she, herself, needed it -- as opposed to a marketer who is simply trying to make more sales. This book, partnered with the web site, is worth the money if you are trying to conquer and show off your beautiful curls.
